Government: executives lied, cheated, covered up

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A $1.9 billion corporate fraud trial has concluded with the government saying former executives lied, cheated and covered up wrongdoing.
Federal trial attorney Kathleen McGovern used her closing argument Tuesday to attack defense attorneys' arguments that their clients did nothing wrong.
McGovern says the evidence is strong that two former owners and three former executives of National Century Financial Enterprises moved money between accounts to cover up shortfalls.
McGovern says executives also lied to investors and loaded false data onto a company computer system.
The jury was to begin deliberating Tuesday afternoon following the trial that began Feb. 4.
